Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and ensuring their comfort, safety, and health outcomes. Your role involves assessing patient conditions, creating and implementing care plans, and working collaboratively with doctors, medical staff, and patients’ families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments and gather patient health histories.
- Care Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer Medications: Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on managing health conditions, medications, and post-care instructions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Care: Respond quickly to emergency situations, including trauma, cardiac events, or sudden health declines.
- Supervise Support Staff: Assist and supervise nursing assistants or other junior healthcare staff as needed.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, infection control procedures, and other regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. A BSN is often preferred by employers.
- Licensing:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where you will be practicing.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced certifications like ACLS may be required for certain positions).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
- Experience in specialized areas like ICU, Med-Surg, or Pediatrics may be a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond to emergencies.
