Position Title: Finance Manager
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Finance Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring the company’s financial health and growth. This includes managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with financial regulations. The Finance Manager will collaborate with senior leadership to provide key insights into the financial performance of the company, support strategic decision-making, and manage financial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders, including management, investors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure the company’s financial records are audit-ready.

  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop financial plans and forecasts.
    • Monitor financial performance against the budget, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
    • Conduct regular financial forecasting to ensure the company is on track to meet its financial objectives.

  3. Cash Flow Management:

    • Oversee the company’s cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to optimize cash flow and minimize overdue payments.
    • Implement cash flow forecasting to anticipate funding requirements and avoid cash shortages.

  4. Financial Analysis:

    • Perform in-depth financial analysis to evaluate business performance, including profitability, cost structures, and capital investment needs.
    • Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.
    • Support business decisions by conducting scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and other advanced financial modeling techniques.

  5. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Develop and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
    • Monitor changes in accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws to ensure the company’s compliance.

  6. Team Leadership and Development:

    • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
    • Ensure the finance team is adequately staffed and has the resources and skills necessary to meet business needs.

  7. Strategic Planning Support:

    • Support senior management in strategic planning, providing financial analysis and insights to guide business decisions.
    • Assist with long-term financial planning and investment analysis to drive the company’s growth and expansion.
    • Collaborate on business acquisitions, mergers, or other significant financial transactions, providing financial due diligence and risk assessments.

  8. Tax Planning and Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with corporate tax laws.
    • Manage tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position.
    • Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants as necessary.

  9. Risk Management:

    • Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues, such as foreign exchange risks, interest rate fluctuations, and credit risks.
    • Develop and implement financial policies that ensure the company’s stability and long-term success.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.
    • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.

  • Experience:

    • At least 5-7 years of experience in financial management or accounting, including experience in a supervisory role.
    • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
    • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.

  • Skills:

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with standard working hours (Monday to Friday).
